ALEXANDRA DELGADO TAKES PART IN "MISSION MADRID: LIVING INDUSTRIAL PARKS, INDUSTRY AND ENVIRONMENT MICRO-MISSION"
On 28 September 2022, a colloquium organised by Democratic Society, Plataforma Nave Boetticher and Ecooo, and led by Juan López-Aranguren, took place in the Ecooo space. Alexandra Delgado, professor at the Polytechnic School of Nebrija University, Juan López-Arangure and Martina Francesca (Democratic Society), Pedro González (General Coordinator of Economy, Commerce, Consumption and Patenting), Juan Manuel Fernández (Deputy Director General of Urban Evaluation), Mario Sánchez-Herrero (Ecooo) and Isabel Ochoa (Plataforma Nave Boetticher) participated in an open conversation to address the challenge.
This colloquium dealt with the union of two terms that, although they may seem antagonistic, urgently need to come together to curb climate change. This situation is found in Villaverde, where industry is one of the pillars of its identity. The search for synergy between industry and the environment is a great challenge for this area, but at the same time a magnificent opportunity to create strategies and actions that will bring about a change towards a better future. For this reason, a micro-commission has been set up with the aim of designing an innovative, competitive, welfare-generating and zero-emission industrial estate, in line with the Climate missions defined by Horizon 2020.
