Emulsa has awarded the architect Alexandra Delgado, of the firm AD Arquitectura Urbana, the contract for the drafting of the Urban Naturalization Master Plan, a document that will define the strategy for the creation of new green spaces in the city over the next few years and the improvement of existing ones. Among other projects and awards, AD Arquitectura was the winner of the international competition organized by the Principality of Asturias for the development of the entire urban environment of the former Central Hospital of Asturias, in the neighborhood of El Cristo in Oviedo. Its proposal, 'Hucamp!', is still pending execution. The contract was put out to tender for 60,000 euros and has been awarded for 56,265 euros, including taxes.
The drafting of the master plan will take six months, divided into three phases. The first will consist of a preliminary study "to obtain a clear picture of the current state of the city, to determine the main problems, deficiencies and possibilities of the urban fabric for the implementation of a naturalization plan". Subsequently, a study of alternatives will have to be drawn up that includes among its objectives "the increase of biodiversity, urban permeability, the renaturalization of urban areas and the generation of environmental corridors".
The last step will be to draw up a technical document that includes the actions to be carried out and the areas in which each one will be applied, and which must contain a plan "taking into account the projection of the trees for at least the next 25 years".
