MADRID, CENTRAL ISSUE. AUTONOMY AND METROPOLITAN REGION

"A critical review of urban planning in the evolution and crisis of the Metropolitan Region of Madrid" is the chapter that is part of the publication of this book.

This publication is the result of the course "Key issues on the future of the metropolitan region of Madrid", organized by the Rational and Sustainable Territory Group of the Autonomous University of Madrid in collaboration with the Environmental Area of La Casa Encendida.

The book offers a collective work in which 40 authors, qualified and legitimized by their political, business, professional, academic or research careers, have collaborated. The authors include former presidents of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, Joaquín Leguina and Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón, and the current president, Ignacio González.

The publication "Madrid, cuestión central. Autonomy and metropolitan region" aims to be a wake-up call on the need to define a territorial and economic model to guide the development of a region as dynamic as it lacks a project for the future agreed with society.
