Bicycles and electric scooters, the new alternative for urban mobility
The pandemic has changed and modified the way we used to go about our daily business.
According to the Madrid entities, the use of private vehicles (44%) and soft transport such as bicycles, scooters and VMPs (31%) has increased, while the use of public transport has decreased dramatically (25%).
In order to minimize the risks of COVID-19 contagion, in addition to promoting sustainable urban mobility, the use of electric bicycles and scooters is an excellent alternative to travel by private vehicle.
So far, the Valencian and Madrid communities are pioneers in offering aid for the purchase of this type of vehicle. Other autonomous communities are following in their footsteps to offer subsidies to individuals in their purchase of bicycles and electric scooters.
You can also apply for aid from the MOVES II Plan for the exclusive purchase of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, from electric motorcycles to trucks to promote sustainable mobility.
